At times the cycle may be irregular or bleeding may become heavy. This may be due to a temporary hormonal imbalance but it may also signal a problem in the uterus or ovaries such as: An Endometrial Polyp which is a small growth in the lining of the uterus.
Polyps can cause heavier periods or unusual bleeding. Most polyps are not cancerous but may become so if not treated. They can be seen on transvaginal ultrasound but sonohysterography allows easier detection.

First trimester ultrasound is performed in the first months of a pregnancy. Pregnancy ultrasounds are performed mainly using transabdominal ultrasound. For many women, especially after 8 weeks gestation, sufficient information about the baby may be obtained with transabdominal ultrasound only. However, in the early pregnancy, the developing embryo is very small at 6 weeks gestation, the baby is only mm long and a transvaginal ultrasound may be required to get a better image of the baby.
Transvaginal ultrasound is safe and commonly performed during all stages of pregnancy, including the first trimester. It will not harm you or your baby. Transabdominal ultrasound involves scanning through your lower abdomen. A small amount of ultrasound gel is put on the skin of the lower abdomen, with the ultrasound probe then scanning through this gel. The gel helps improve contact between the probe and your skin. Transvaginal ultrasound is an internal ultrasound. It involves scanning with the ultrasound probe lying in the vagina.
Transvaginal ultrasound usually produces better and clearer images of the female pelvic organs including the developing pregnancy, because the ultrasound probe lies closer to these structures. The transvaginal ultrasound probe is thin, about 2cm diameter. The probe is covered with a disposable protective sheath.
It is usually part of an assessment called combined first trimester screening. Combined first trimester screening Combined first trimester screening assesses the risk for your baby having certain chromosomal abnormalities trisomy 13, 18 and This testing combines the nuchal translucency ultrasound with specific blood tests.

Do not miss this great opportunity to restore your Health! Inflamed Colon Scientific research in both America and Europe have demonstrated that people in the richer nations carry within their bodies anywhere from 10 to 50 pounds of accumulated toxic materials. Although this material is stored throughout the body, the majority of it is stored in the colon.
Toxic waste, which sticks to the walls of the large intestine, presents a nutritious soil for the tree of many diseases, which sinks its roots into this “perfect” habitat. These roots, enriched through the fermentation and putrefaction of the masses in the large intestine, feed the branches, flows and fruits of many diseases, giving them life, energy and destructive power. Colonics are also a direct means of losing weight measured in pounds. Some clients have carefully weighed themselves minutes before the colonic, and then carefully weighed themselves minutes after the colonic on the same scale.

Bonding with your baby with scans throughout your pregnancy There is nothing quite like watching your baby in the womb for the first time. The London Ultrasound Centre provides the opportunity to supplement your two NHS scans and bond with your unborn child. We have packages and special offers available to suit all budgets and the extra scans can bring you peace of mind should you need extra reassurance at any stage. NHS wraparound scans The NHS typically only offers two scans during pregnancy at around twelve weeks dating scan and twenty weeks anomaly scan.
Both scans check the development of the baby and the twenty week scan is usually where the gender of your baby can be revealed, if so desired. At the London Ultrasound Centre we can offer you a complete spectrum of private ultrasound scans throughout your pregnancy. If you chose to have NHS scans we can offer additional private scans to complement the scans that you receive on the NHS.
You might feel that you would like extra scans, as you are a first time mum or you have had complications in the past.
