Post by SPL15 on Dec 12, I’ve got mine wired for 2 ohms normal everday, and 1 ohm for competitions. Amp really does about watts rms into 2 ohms though at Infinity Reference two way 6×9 – these are just for back fill, nothing special about these whatsoever. Run these from the deck power. I only have them turned up so I can barely tell they are there. I dont use these to add loudness, music doesnt come from behind you at a concert. Only reflected sound does. These speakers are only there to recreate that reflected muffled sound form behind. Just got it, probably gonna return it.
The following is the most basic system. It involves a head unit HU and 2 pairs of speakers which are driven by the head unit’s internal amplifier. You can see that the battery terminal of the HU is connected to a constant source of power the battery with an inline fuse.
Jan 02, · I know you can hook up two subs to a mono amp but what is the exact benefits of it. Been reading online but people say a lot of things! Why wire in series or parallel?
Podcasting , Technology Any system is only as good as the weakest link in the chain and audio systems are certainly no exception to the rule. Attaching speakers to your Hi-Fi system usually only requires a few cables. These potential problems are easy to spot with a few simple tests and luckily the corresponding remedies are equally simple.
Left and Right Tests In the grand scale of things, getting your left and right speakers mixed up is not a major problem. Record producers and mix engineers spend weeks mixing and producing an album and as part of the process they will decide where in the mix to place certain instruments. Then try the following two fairly self explanatory tests on your music system. You will need to check the wiring of your system, rewiring where necessary and then repeat the two tests to make sure that both channels are working and in the correct order.
The following diagram shows how to wire your speakers to your amplifier:
June 5, Phase will not take out bass at all.. Weather its a dial knob with adjustable phase from 0 to degrees, or just a switch that you can either select 0 or degrees it does the same thing. It changes the polarity of the sub s being ran off that amp. If you have 2 subs, and 1 amp per sub, and flip the phase on one amp and not the other, one sub will move outward when the bass hits, while the other will move inward.
Steve, Your mono, 1-channel amp has 2 sets of speaker output terminals, wired together inside the amp, for convenience, and if you hook a speaker to each terminal it would result in the two speakers being wired in parallel, cutting the total impedance in half.

These amps employ some of the same circuitry developed for Alpine’s top-of-the-line PDX digital amps, so they’ll bring exceptional sound to almost any vehicle. The MRX-M mono amp puts out up to 1, watts RMS to your subwoofer system, so you can fill your listening space with plenty of bass.
All you need to do to lower Imedence in a speaker is use less winds of a larger wire, you dont need the complications if have 2 seperat voice coils! Dual voice coils is what makes a sub a sub, otherwise it would just be a normal woofer. True that you dont get Stereo sound out of the Sub, but it maintains the 2 seperate signals so that they dont get mixed.
Sure i have 2 watt rockfords connected to a watt kenwood mono amp. This statement made by another is true. You can hook up 20 subs to a mono amp; BUT you have to configure the speakers by impedance/ohms. if you hook two 2 ohm speakers to a 4 ohm steady amp in parallel you will soon buy a new amp. if you hook 10 speakers in series you will not even get it warm.
How to Wire 2 Subwoofers on a Mono Amplifier by Nichole Liandi If you’ve got a mono amplifier, you’ve got a great opportunity to really bring on the bass. Mono amplifiers are especially well-suited to wiring to two subwoofers. To wire two subwoofers to a mono amplifier, you need only know how to cut wire, use very simple tools and follow basic instructions. Cut two lengths of speaker wire. The first should be long enough to reach from the amplifier to the first subwoofer, and the second long enough to reach from the first subwoofer to the second.
Connect one end of the first length of wire to the speaker output terminals of the amplifier. These are usually set-screw connections — loosen the screw, slip the bare wire underneath and tighten down. Connect the positive lead of the speaker wire to the positive terminal, and the negative to the negative. Connect the other end of this piece of speaker wire to the terminals of the subwoofer. Then connect the second piece of speaker wire to the same set of terminals.
Tighten down the terminals so that both pieces of wire are securely fastened.

Apr 13, · I’m pretty sure my subs were still running at 2 ohms but they were hooked up the wrong way. This is the right way to hook 2 4 ohm subwoofers up @ 2 ohms.
Contact Us Improving Stereo Performance of a Surround Sound Setup — Part 1 I hear and read of numerous reports from people with surround sound systems, that are not performing as well as desired for stereo music playback. Some are people who sold their old stereo setup, jumped on the surround sound band wagon, and now miss the musical qualities of their previous system.
Others have started out with a surround sound system, but underestimated how much music they play and now find their system lacking in this department. In both cases, people have fallen for the marketing hype that more channels is better, 5. So why do surround sound systems have such poor stereo performance compared to a stereo system? There are several reasons: All of which degrades and colours the sound.
One box mentality; with everything in a one box AV receiver, all the digital electronics crammed in can cause interference with the analogue circuitry. For many receivers all circuitry and amplification channels are powered using a single PSU see photo below, 6 , which can struggle at high loads and may not be able to provide the cleanest power to each component when everything is at full swing. As such these should be the best speakers you can afford. Cheaper speakers for the rear channels will be far less noticeable than cheaper speakers at the front.
After hooking it up, i wasn’t getting the best sound out of it. Last night i plugged those extra holes up you can see them in the pictures and it was like night and day. The sound coming out of these now is amazing! I also used this wiring kit and i am extremely happy with that also. The only reason that i gave the amp 4 stars is because the remote bass knob doesn’t seem to be working. I’m going to do a little research and find out if there is a reason why.

Their Reference linestage preamplifier line remains a coveted commodity among ARC enthusiasts, and the Reference 6 linestage preamplifier solidly continues this tradition. More than a pretty face On the outside, the REF 6 sports some eye-catching changes. First, ARC is updating the aesthetic of the Ref line. A clean, modern appearance moves away from the classic, more industrial ARC look.
The visual design of the REF 6 comes straight from the desk of Livio Cucuzza and his team, the ones responsible for the trend setting aesthetic of the highly popular G-Series. Tastefully integrating style cues from the past models with a more modern look and better finish work, Audio Research components finally look as good as they sound. Substantial handles on the front of the REF 6 pay homage to past models, offering a visual contrast to the otherwise flat front.
The handles also offer a practical function when moving and placing the When placing it, headroom is another important consideration. The tube complement generates a lot of heat and adequate ventilation is necessary for the long-term health of the unit. The tube complement consists of six 6H30P dual triodes, plus a single C and a 6H30 regulating the beefy power supply.
